Nagcarlan Trip
It started as an idea.
We did not have anything to do on a Good Friday. A niece suggested a trip to Majayjay,
Laguna. To go to the water falls. We told her to start planning. But nothing came out of it.
Then I saw Micah’s post in FB, he, being stuck in traffic
while going home to Nagcarlan. I said
why not go to Nagcarlan instead? Micah
said, seriously? He thought I was joking.
So, we googled Nagcarlan and found Villa Sylvia. And the place was near Micah’s home. We instructed Micah to do the research.
How to get there:
either we go by bus or to hire a car.
If we go by bus, we have to get off at San Pablo City and take a
jeep. If we go by car, we can go
directly to the place, but then, hiring a car would be a bit pricey.
We searched for a car to hire. We found one near the area. We decided to hire the car. It would be convenient for us. Besides, we agreed on a reasonable price.
So the preparations continued. We told Micah to buy some food there so that we
will bring only minimal food.
The next day, we left early in the morning. It was 5 am.
The driver had already googled the place and his car was equipped with a
GPS.
We picked up Jayvee at Baclaran church.
When we arrived at SM San Pablo, we waited for another niece
and her friend whom we are supposed to pick up there but after a few minutes, she
texted us to go ahead as the jeep they were riding was very slow.
We left San Pablo and cruised thru Sto. Tomas, Batangas,
Alaminos and Rizal, Laguna and in a little while we reached Villa Sylvia which
was along the road in Brgy. Banago in Nagcarlan.
Micah came in a few minutes. The parking area was teeming with vehicles already but we were able to find a parking spot.
Villa Sylvia has lots of pools but we chose a hut near the creek at the back side. They constructed several weirs on
the creek to contain the water. So there
were several levels of swimmable area with different levels of depths.
The mountain resort was nice. The cold water in the creek came from the
mountains and it was very refreshing.
I got tired, though, going through the steps while exploring
the resort. But it was quite an
experience.
It was another paradise in that part of Laguna.
Next year, we will try to plan another getaway. I hope that we could squeeze it in our
schedule.
This early, I’m already excited.
